Origin

Terra Serpentis began as a solo project of John Harford (Aurum) late 2007 with the experimental recording of traditional instruments and synth sounds.  Inspired by Faun, Corvus Corax, Qntal, Estampie, Mortiis, Hagalaz Runedance, Soil Bleeds Black and other Middle-Ages and neo-medieval acts – it was originally a blending of old and modern textures meant to evoke ancient and mystic places.  With members and influences shifting with time, it has become a very different live and recording unit.  Additional drums, historical melodies, and various pipes and wind instruments have created a unique and energetic sound.   And like any serpent, it will continue to grow as it is fed.
